The fine print

An order is a request until Dougie calls. Placing an order on this site takes no payment — it's a reservation. Dougie calls the number you give us to confirm your order and set a delivery time. Your price locks on that call, at the Dock Price Board rate he quotes you. If we can't reach you to confirm, there's no order — and nothing owed by anyone.

You pay at the door. Cash or check, on delivery, for exactly the price confirmed on the phone plus any stated delivery fee. Nothing online, nothing in advance.

Someone must receive the box. Crabs are perishable — an adult needs to take the handoff and settle up. If nobody's home, we'll call; if we can't reach you after two attempts, we may have to cancel the run and take your crabs back to the dock.

Counts vary. Bushels are sold by volume, dockside custom. #1s run 5–6 dozen, #2s about 6 dozen, sooks more — exact counts vary basket to basket and aren't grounds for a claim.

Delays. If harvest or weather forces a delay, we'll tell you promptly and you choose: a new date, or cancel outright — free, because nothing is paid until the crabs reach your door. (That's also just how Dad does business.)

Cancellations. Free until 48 hours before your delivery — one call or email does it, and there's no refund to wait on because nothing's been paid. Inside 48 hours, your crabs are already set aside with your name on the basket, so call as early as you can.

Weather & the Bay. If the Bay doesn't cooperate, we may reschedule with notice. You always keep the right to cancel instead of taking a new date.

Storage after handoff. Follow the Safe Handling card. Claims voided by improper storage (a trunk in July, live crabs in fresh water) aren't covered.

The law. These terms are governed by Maryland law. Live-arrival claims work as described in Refunds & Guarantee.
