Safe Handling & Allergens
Steamed crabs: eat within 2 hours of delivery or refrigerate. Keep refrigerated up to 3 days; reheat by steaming 5–10 minutes until hot through. Never leave them in a hot car or on a porch.
Live crabs: keep cool and damp — cooler with the lid cracked, or the fridge crisper under a wet towel. Never in fresh water, never sealed airtight. Steam them the same day.
The one hard rule: never cook a dead raw crab. If a live crab dies before cooking, it goes in the trash, not the pot. When in doubt, throw it out — then send us the photo within 24 hours and the Guarantee covers you.
Picking & kids: mallets crack shells; shells are sharp. Keep little hands supervised and the vinegar cups away from the dog. Enjoy the feast.
