The fine print
Plain English, like everything else around here. Questions on any of it: dougie@dadscrabs.com.
Privacy Policy
What we collect and why. Your name, phone, email, and delivery address — to steam crabs and get them to your door. Order history — because Maryland makes us keep tax records (about 4 years). That's the list.
Your phone number is for one thing. Dougie calls it — a real voice call — to confirm your order and set your delivery time. That's the whole reason we ask for it. No marketing texts, no robocalls, and we never share it.
Address checking uses Google Maps. When you type a delivery address, it is sent to Google's Maps Platform (Places Autocomplete and Geocoding) to confirm you're in our zone. Google processes it under the Google Privacy Policy.
No payment details — ever. We take no payment online. You pay at the door, cash or check, after Dougie confirms your order by phone. That means no card numbers, no payment processor, and no payment data on our servers — because it never exists in the first place.
Where your data lives. Orders are stored in our own database on servers in the United States, protected with least-privilege access, over HTTPS only.
Cookies. First-party only — one session cookie so your cart survives a refresh, and first-party analytics that count visits. No ad networks, no cross-site tracking, and we never sell or share personal data for advertising. The full table:
Email. Order confirmations and delivery updates always. Marketing (the Monday board) only if you tick the box — every one has a one-step unsubscribe, honored within 10 days.
Kids. Our site isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Your rights & breaches. Want your data, or want it gone? Email dougie@dadscrabs.com. Under Maryland PIPA, if a breach ever affects your information, we'll notify you within 45 days.
